First Nations Land Acknowledgment

I feel grateful for the access I have to the beach and the ocean. It may not be much to the people who have always lived here, but the beach is luxury. Unlike many people in the world, we are surrounded by the ocean. It is a common place for social events or relaxation. I love the feeling of the wind in my hair at the beach. I love swimming in our beautiful ocean. I appreciate the wonderful sea animals that thrive within the Georgia Straight. We can’t forget that this land belongs to the Coast Salish First Nation people. We acknowledge and honor the original people of this land, the people who have stories of this land and have been in a respectful relationship with this land for thousands of years.
